  5.      S A I L S C O R is a SHAREWARE product.

  7.     If you are going to use  this program,  you are asked by the author 
  8.     to please send a check for $10(ten dollars) to Terry Beadle.   This
  9.     small amount will help compensate the many months of work that went
  10.     into the creation of this program,  and will  encourage the  author
  11.     to make more programs.  It also registers you for all the free help
  12.     you might need to fully  utilize this program, either written or by
  13.     phone,  and  notice of fixes and new  releases.   For an  extra $10
  14.     (ten dollars) you can also order the latest version on disk  either
  15.     5 1/4 or 3 1/2 inch media.

  17.     SAILSCOR is a very powerful and comprehensive sailboat race scoring
  18.     program.  It's a quick and easy way to score  sailboat races, print
  19.     results  and maintain  seasonal  standings.  It features  automatic
  20.     prompting  of  race  results  on a  boat  by  boat  basis,  thereby 
  21.     eliminating  the need to enter a boats  description more than once.
  22.     Ties are automatically broken by the program using the standard tie
  23.     breaking  rules.   Multiple  copies of the  results  are  generated
  24.     without a copier or running the program multiple times.

  26.     Easy to use menus simplify each step of operation from the creation
  27.     of a fleet to the  printing  of individual  race  results,  regatta
  28.     results  and  seasonal standings.   This  program also  contains an
  29.     extensive set of editing capabilities so that fleet information can
  30.     be  easily  updated and  corrected.   It  also  contains  the three
  31.     standard methods  of  scoring  races:  (1) the  HIGH  POINT method,
  32.     (2) the LOW POINT method, (3) the OLYMPIC method.

  34.     This  program  was developed in conjunction with a SUNFISH sailboat
  35.     fleet and  has been  used for  many years.   However,  it has  been
  36.     modified  to provide  use by many types of sailboat fleets.  It has
  37.     the  capability  to  support any number of fleets.   Each fleet can
  38.     contain as many as 200 boats and 100  races.

  40.     A  sample  fleet  file(SAMPLE.DAT)  is  supplied  for your use.  It
  41.     contains 10 boats and  5 races. Use it to become familiar with this
  42.     program.

  44.     The files associated with this program are:
  45.         READ.ME      - The file you are viewing.
  46.         SAILSCOR.EXE - The program itself.
  47.         SAILSCOR.DOC - The Users Manual.
  48.         SAMPLE.DAT   - A sample fleet.
  49.         
  50.     This program will run on any PC Compatible system(XT or AT).
  51.     It requires an 80 column display(MONO or COLOR).
  52.     It also requires an 80 column ASCII printer(EPSON, etc.)
  53.     
  54.     Print  the  SAILSCOR.DOC  file.   It is a  complete  USER'S  MANUAL
  55.     describing  how to use this program,  how to register it and how to
  56.     submit problems and suggestions.

  58.     To start the program, you merely enter SAILSCOR.
  59.     
  60.     The BREAK(Ctrl & Pause) key  interrupts and  terminates the program
  61.     regardless  of  what's  happening.   Use  it ONLY when you have to.
  62.     Nothing is saved when the BREAK key is used.
